The two butterflies in the second photo may be a male and a female. The black butterfly with white spots was chasing around the one which was perching on the cluster amaryllis. It may be a photo of mating display. As for the the first photo, I just tried to capture the contrast beauty of black and red.
These are BEAUTIFUL! We have so few butterflies these days around our neighborhood...although, it hasn't always been that way. Your captures of these beauties against the red are certainly beautiful.
