Fringed Orchids

Today I went to take pictures of fringed orchids, which are peculiar to Japan, in the Botanical Garden of Kumamoto City. I have wanted to photograph them for long since I first saw pictures of them in a photo magazine a few years ago. I have been enchanted by their shape which looks like "White Heron" with spread out wings. Because of their appearance they are called "White Heron Plant" in Japanese. But unfortunately the number of these flowers are decreasing year by year and are now designated as one of the endangered species.
