Kalaupapa Overlook

Kalaupapa Overlook is the first tourist spot we visited straight from the airport. These are the pictures of the Kalaupapa Peninsula from the Cliff Edge Overlook. We enjoyed its beautiful view, but there was a sad history there. The guide-driver told us that the peninsula was once the place where many people infected with Hansen's Disease were put in isolation from 1866 until 1969. We also learned a lot about the peninsula and Molokai's history from the plaques there.
