At a Local Festival (Lion Dance)

The lion dance in our local festival consists of two pairs of skilled dancers dressed like a male and a female lion, eleven musicians, and six young boys who swing the ball-like object to lead the lions. It is interesting to note that the male lion's mask has two horns and the female lion's mask has one. They dance to the accompaniment of drums and flutes, being lead by the young boy. The young boy's dress and music played by the musicians indicate that this dance has festive influence from China. This ritual is performed to bring good luck and drive away bad spirits.
