These pictures were taken at a summer festival held in our town last week. In order to liven up the festival, people carry around a mikoshi on their shoulders in the streets where tens of thousands of spectators gather to watch the event. I really like this post. It's so colorful and full of fun. The "kappa" information is quite interesting to me. I am guessing that water is spraying in these photos. At first I thought they were throwing rice...but, it's water, I think. What a fun festival!
