Today I visited the garden of a teahouse which is laid out as a garden of the tea ceremony. It was originally built by the Lord of the Matsui Clan in Yatsushiro and is designated as a cultural property of Kumamoto Prefecture. At this time of year, Higo irises (special irises cultivated in Higo which means Kumamoto) bloom fragrantly.
