Murasaki-keman, A Wild Flower

This is one of the wild flowers that I photographed on yesterday's wild plant observation hike. At this time of year there are not very many wild flowers in bloom. The name of this flower is "murasaki-keman", which is one of the papaveraceous flowers commonly seen in mountain bushes all over Japan during the early spring. I like the lovely little purple and white flowers.

  1. The bokeh is beautiful in this photo! What a pretty flower this is. I am surprised you have wild flowers in February. Our California Poppies are just beginning to appear in some places and we are really looking forward to the desert wildflowers appearing in another week or two and then through early April. I am eager to drive out to Anza Borrego for this.
