Those photos were taken at the Hachimangu-Shrine, where a lion dance was performed on 25th of November. After the dance, the lions walked around the precincts and pretended to bite babies and toddlers on their heads with their big mouths. It is a kind of ritual to pray for their healthy growth by lions' psychic powers which are believed to expel evil spirits. It was interesting to see the various reactions which are different with each child.
