These are pictures of the local train that my wife and I enjoyed riding on the other day. This local train, whose nickname is KUMA-1, runs from Hitoyoshi to Yunomaye in Kumamoto prefecture. It is popular among visitors to the areas of Hitoyoshi and Kuma County because of its exterior and unique interior designed in natural motifs. As you see, it is very different from the crowded commuter trains which run in big cities in Japan. You can enjoy riding while looking out at the beautiful idyllic scenery in the countryside from the train windows.
