Bullet Train ”Tsubame"

These pictures of the bullet train were taken near Minamata Station in Kagoshima Prefecture on my way back from visiting my 93 year old mother who is in a care and nursing facility. I got excited not only at its speed but also at the sound of the swooshing air that it made when it came out of the tunnel. I will return here again to take pictures of the bullet train with the blue sea water and sky in the background.

  1. I LOVE these trains! I enjoyed riding on them so much on my visits to Japan. I can imagine the sound of swooshing air as it comes out of a tunnel...wow! That must be something!
I just ordered some filters for my 18-200mm lens. They are "graduated Neutral Density." I saw a man using one in Yosemite and he let me look at his LCD and was I ever surprised at how they improve an image with high contrast. The bottom photo of yours would work so well with these filters...it would keep the sky nice and blue against the dark mountain side. Maybe you already have them?
I can't wait to receive them and give them a try...sometime late this next week.
