The other day a friend of mine and I visited this stone-built dam, which is situated in a mountainous area in Oita Prefecture. It was constructed to ensure a water supply for agricultural purposes. People say that it is the most beautiful dam in Japan because of the ripples flowing over three different shapes on the surface of the dam. I wanted to photograph it with a person at the bottom of the dam in order to show how big it was, but unfortunately, there were not any visitors except us that day.
How beautiful! The water looks like lace! I like how the steps come down with a curve on the opposite side. This is just stunning...I think you should have sent your friend to the bottom of the dam...HA! That's what friends are for!
