A Photo Shooting Session

These pictures were taken at a photo shooting session held in front of the Tsujunkyo Bridge. The objects of the session were puppeteers and Bunraku puppets. Bunraku is a Japanese puppet show with more than 300 years of tradition and it is played in the theater. On this day, they were outside the theater just for the shooting session. About 50 photographers came to shoot them from not only in Kumamoto prefecture but also other prefectures in Kyushu and from Honshu. The lady whom I talked to was from Osaka prefecture.
Bunraku was designated as a "masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2003. Yamato Town is well-known for its bunraku performance by local farmers. I will post more pictures of Bunraku soon.
The website for more information about bunraku is http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=JP&hl=ja&v=odURBMon2rY&feature=related
