Last Saturday night, I went to photograph Misuakari Festival in Kumamoto City. It was organized by many volunteer groups and held on the street and the moat at the foot of Kumamoto Castle. The light from tens of thousands of handcarved bamboo lanterns with the illuminated Kumamoto Castle was stunning! And the festival site was bustling with many families, couples, amateur photographers, and even foreign tourists.
Oh, how I would loved to have been one of those foreign tourists with my camera in hand! That must have been a very impressive sight!
