After the Rainy Typhoon

A typhoon that brought a lot of rain in our area passed away causing casualties in central Japan, but in my garden it left us two wonderful gifts behind. As you see, one is that two orchid flowers in a pot, which I hung on one of the bush branches by the front door, came into bloom. The other is that four fungus mushroomed under one of the pine trees. The biggest one is about 8 inches in a diameter!! My wife asked me if they were edible or not, but I thought of photographing them. I have never seen such big fungus or mushroom in my garden.

  1. You will never believe this...I have 2 purple orchid flowers blooming that look very much like the orchids in this picture...and Jerry and I have had mushrooms in our yard. The Japanese man who owns Mt. Fuji Nursery in our neighborhood, told me that we have been watering our yard too much and at night. We are watering less and in the morning and now the growth of mushrooms have "calmed" down.
