On the day I went to photograph rafting and kayakng, I also took pictures of the Hitoyoshi-go, the steam locomotive. I waited for it to go around the curved tracks near Naraguchi Station. I tried to capture the powerful image of this steam locomotive, but I do not think that I did. I should have photographed it from a low position. 
These are great shots and I agree a lower perspective would really create a powerful image! That train will return another day! I hope you go back and get the photo you really want!
