The Meteorological Agency declared that the rainy season has been over in southern Kyushu since early in July, but a few days ago in northern Kyushu and Yamaguchi prefecture, there was a lot of damage by heavy rain and sediment disasters. It looks like the rainy season is particularly long this year.
In our area, too, we had had rain for the past few days, but late this afternoon we enjoyed a clear blue sky. On the roadside where I took a walk, I found this sunflower. It is the flower for summer. It looked beautiful against the blue sky.
I love sunflowers. They are such happy flowers!
