A Lotus Flower

Yesterday I went to take pictures of lotus flowers in Yamaga city, Kumamoto prefecture. I left my house about 6 in the morning because the best time for shooting lotus is from dawn until about 7 a.m.
Many people were already there when I arrived before seven, because the lotus flowers there are very popular and objects for shooting at this time of year. They are ancient lotus flowers.
In 1951, Dr. Ichiro OOga discovered three lotus seeds from about a 2000 year-old stratum near Tokyo. He germinated them the next year.
I was so moved to see many light - red color ancient lotus flowers blooming in the ponds that I took about fifty pictures to catch their beauty. This is one of the photographs I took there.
I just hope that these ancient lotus flowers will never die.
