I photographed these pictures at a light festival called "Hyakka-hyakusai" in Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture last week. The light from hand carved bamboo lanterns and traditional oil paper umbrellas dimly lit from inside illuminated the alleys around Yachiyoza Theater, which was built 100 years ago and has been designated as one of the national cultural properties. The area was like a fantasy world.
